DESCRIPTION: Kiwanis Division 27 is a part of the
California-Nevada-Hawaii District. Division 27 covers San Joaquin
County in California. There are 11 active clubs in the County, including Escalon, Lathrop, Lodi (2),
Stockton (3), Manteca (2), Ripon, and Tracy.
See the Division 27 Calendar Page for regular scheduled meetings.
KIWANIS CLUB of MANTECA-SUNRISE, "The Pumpkin Fair People".
Pumpkin Fair takes place the first weekend of October with the primary purpose of giving the Manteca community a family event they can look forward to every year. If you are interested in learning more about our organization, click Membership Info Request below.
KIWANIS CLUB of GREATER LODI
This club puts on a Pancake Breakfast at Lodi Lake on the Fourth of July. We also work on the Lodi Crane Festival.
STOCKTON KIWANIS CLUB
This club puts on an annual Crab Feed, at St Basil's Greek Orthodox Church, to support our high school scholarship programs. Another annual event is "Octobeerfest", a wine and beer-tasting event, which is presented at the Eagle's Nest Harley-Davidson dealership. The date for 2008 is set for Oct. 4. They also put on an annual TURKEY AUCTION to raise money for the Emergency Food Bank.
ESCALON KEY AND KIWANIS CLUBS
Our Escalon Key Club Coordinator and Escalon Kiwanis Club member, Rick
Heflin, is a very proud Dad right now. His son, Matt, shook hands with the Governator. Matt was recently recognized by the State of California for his academic, extra-curricular and volunteer achievements. Way to go Matt! I'm sure that Rick would like to take all the credit for his son's achievements but personally I believe it's Matt's association with the scholarly types in the Escalon Kiwanis Club that really made it happen.
(You are entitled to your own opinion but I can get several members to back me up on this one.)
Congratulations Matt. Division 27 is proud of your accomplishments.
In Kiwanis Spirit,

2008 DRESS REHEARSAL FOR 2010 CENSUS
The information below was sent to us by our speaker about the upcomimg 2010 Census. San Joaquin County is one of 2 sites in the Nation selected for the 2008 Dress Rehearsal in preparation for the 2010 National Census. We are very much interested in giving presentations to your 8 Kiwanis Clubs in San Joaquin County. We need your help for public awareness, we would love to see a good mail back return.
On April 7, 2008 a postcard will be sent to each household in San Joaquin County and then on April 14, 2008 the actual Census form will be mailed out. We expect to employ approximately 1,600 people throughout the County to go out and follow up on the households that do not respond.
Please contact me to set up speaking engagements, and if I can answer any questions for you.
Also, would you please take a look at our website and consider posting it on your homepages for the Kiwanis. It is very informative.
